Dock, Boat Space, and Mooring Information
WEEKLY BOAT SPACES FOR COTTAGE GUESTS (Maximum 24′ boat)
Add a dock for a boat during your stay.
- Before June 12 and after Aug 29: $300/week (for cottage or house rental guests only)
- From June 13 to Aug 28: $600/week (for cottage or house rental guests only)
SEASONAL BOAT SPACES or MOORINGS
Mid-May to Mid-October (exact dates depend on weather). Includes one parking spot, trash receptacle, and use of public restroom. Property amenities and recreation at dock are not included with rental. Seasonal rental guests may not use boat for recreation or swimming at dock and may not sleep on the boat.
Please make sure that your boat fits in the slip (including the height) when making your reservation. Seasonal reservations are non-refundable and are for assigned boat space only. Each space/mooring assignment is individually and privately owned and cannot be exchanged for a different space.
- Sailboat Moorings: $150/foot ($3,000 minimum)
- Uncovered North: $310/foot ($6,200 minimum)
- Uncovered South: $340/foot ($6,800 minimum)
- Covered Slips: $340/foot ($7,480 minimum)
NOTE: Four of the uncovered boat spaces use whips, fiberglass poles mounted to the edge of a dock. We can assist you as you learn to use whips or click for detailed instructions. To keep your boat away from the dock and hold it in place, a marine-grade rope runs from base of pole up through a pulley at the top and back down. To secure your boat, you must tie four lines to dock and tie the ends of the lines running through the pulleys to two cleats on your boat. If you are unable to use whips, you must let us know before you make your reservation. Reservations are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for a different space.
Docks & Mooring Policies:
Each boat space or mooring is assigned to an individual owner or rental guest. Never use someone else’s boat space or mooring even if it is empty.
Use caution walking on the docks. They may be slippery when wet. Wear foot coverings so you do not get splinters.
Boats and dock boxes are private property. Board only your own boat. Do not open or use dock boxes or put anything on top of them unless they are your own.
Limit idling at the dock. Run engines only for short periods necessary for maneuvering, preparing to depart, or other essential systems checks.
When swimmers are nearby, blow horn and ensure area is clear before backing up.
Remove possessions from docks after use, including bait buckets, fishing poles, blow-up toys, inflatable boats, and life-preservers. Items left on docks may be removed.
Take care not to obstruct access of others when docking. Never dock a boat on the south or north sides of the outer main docks because it blocks access to the covered boat slips of the inner main docks. Visitors to Takundewide may occasionally tie up their boats on the west side of the 2 outer main docks, if available, for a few hours. These temporary boat spaces are not available overnight.
Jet skis and boats may only be used outside the swimming area. Jet skis must be tied in assigned boat slips when not in use.
Please remember that quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 9:00 AM. If you’re on the grounds during these times, please be considerate – our guests may be sleeping.
TEMPORARY DOCKING FOR VISITORS
Visitors with boats may occasionally dock on the west side of the 2 main outer docks, if available (see dock and boat space map). These boat spaces are first-come, temporary docking for a few hours at a time, and are not available overnight. Visitors may never dock on the north or south side of the main outer docks because that blocks access to the covered boat slips on the inner main docks.
Boat space rental guests’ trash receptacle is on the south side of the laundry building.
Reservation request requires a 50% deposit. If reservation can be confirmed, deposit will be processed after January 1. Seasonal boat space balance due by May 15. Reservations are non-refundable. Seasonal reservations are for the assigned boat space only and cannot be exchanged for a different space. If you find you must cancel, cancellation policy applies (click: Reservations). After May 15, if we are able to re-book your reservation for a seasonal boat space/mooring, only the portion of the season still remaining will be refunded.
